In the first showing of the "BREW CITY RACING," the team of Cassie Peller, Ellen Vanden Eykel, Amy Horst and pinch-hitter Mike Nelson brought home silver to an all-men's team. Way to represent!
The race was a 4k loop on the UW-Parkside Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country courses in Keonsha, WI. The team was greeted to the course by cold weather and strong winds, though it didn't stop them from a getting after a strong start and hard finish. Coming in first for the team was Mike Nelson, followed by Cassie Peller, Amy Horst, and Ellen Vanden Eykel.
The race was an opportunity to test our strength on the grass and make a solid workout of it. The highlights of the day included Ellen's new racing shoes and some serious post-race prizes, including gift certificates, wine and reusable grocery bags!
